Energy Efficiency for your
Home
Check out the Home
Energy Solutions program. For $75, professional energy technicians
will come to your house for an 'energy makeover' that will help
you save on your energy bills. Everyone who has had this done speaks
very highly of the program.
While there are many fine Home Energy Solution contractors, the
Task Force has worked with Lantern
Energy and New England Conservation
Services directly and been very pleased. Lantern Energy donates
$25 to Portland's Energy Efficiency program account for every Portland
home they do.

Renewable Energy for your
Home
The Task Force promotes home PV installations,
and CT Clean Energy Fund has programs to help homeowners do just
that. One of them, the Solar
Rebate program, can reduce the cost of a PV system up to 50%.
Another, the CT Solar Lease
program, requires no money down and is structured in such a way
that your electricity bill does not increase. This programs funds
are projected to be depleted by the end of February, so act now!
Also, rebates for Geothermal and Domestic Hot Water
(solar) systems are now
available here.

Portland's Reward for starting
Early!
The town earned a 10 Kw solar photovoltaic (PV)
array as a result of all the Portland residents that enrolled to
support the Clean Energy Options. PV arrays convert sunlight into
electricity, and this one will power 50 computers at peak performance.

performance!

With over 250 Clean Energy Option sign ups, Portland is a leading

a point. When we reach certain point milestones, the town earns
more PV arrays. This is the only 100% non-polluting, domestic electricity
